You have probably heard of the famous Atkins diet. Now whether it's much use, is still debated today.

The concept behind the Atkins diet is to eat less carbohydrates. While doing this, you can eat food that
contains larger amounts of fat. This is why the Atkins diet got so much hype, because you could still eat
eggs, cheese and steaks. Then again breads and vegetables aren't on the dinner plate for you. But is it
really impossible for weeks and months to eat just meat and still live healthy?

and the obvious like junk food. The meat part of the Atkins diet is what you can eat. Like red meat, fish,
chicken, cheese, diary products, and eggs. That's your food for the first two weeks of using the Atkins
diet.

Now after that first two weeks, you will start to eat carbohydrates, 5 grams per day to be exact. Then the
user must determine after time what is the appropriate amount of carbs you need to intake to lose
between 1-3 pounds a week. You basically have to feel this out throughout time to see what works for
your weight loss needs.

When you are almost at your weight loss goal, you have entered the third stage of the Atkins diet. You
are supposed to increase the carbs intake by ten grams a day in order to slow the weight loss process
down. Then gradually you increase the amount of grams throughout the time you want to be on the
Atkins diet. Less then 100 grams of carbs day for the rest of your life is challenging for many people.

The side effects of the Atkins diet has cause a stink also. Some people find success with this diet, some
even got kidney infections. You wouldn't want to get heart problems from the food you intake from this
diet either. When you take away carbs, your taking away your energy, so dizziness and weakness
should be expected for Atkins. Also if you decrease diary intake, your calcium level with be diminished
leading to osteoporosis.
